What to expect
Treatment is generally carried out on massage couch, or seated if you are unable to lie down, and the moves can be made through light clothing. The room will be warm and light covers placed over you.
Treatment consists of a series of gentle moves, with short pauses between, during which time the Practitioner generally leaves the room, allowing for the body to respond and 're-set' itself.
What can Bowen address
Treatment is tailored for each individual client. Although a specific issue may be being addressed, impact is often felt upon other difficulties that you may be experiencing or may have learnt to 'live with' but still cause discomfort.
The Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC) is approved by the Dept. of Health.

How many treatments will I need
This varies from person to person, and may depend upon:-
What the problem is
How acute (severe) the problem is
How complex the problem is
How long you have had the problem
Will your lifestyle continue to contribute to the problem?
Have you multiple problems - if so how many
Generally three sessions at weekly intervals are suggested to start, thereafter depending upon your response, a further treatment or treatments, with longer
periods between may be necessary to build on the changes already made and to prevent a recurrence. Frequently clients report positive changes during and following their first treatment.
In order not to disturb the delicate self healing process that Bowen initiates and to receive maximum benefit, it is advised not to have any other therapies such as massage, osteopathy, acupuncture etc. whilst undertaking Bowen Therapy. This also allows for the therapist to fully understand how you are responding and tailor your treatment accordingly.
Payment can be made either by cash or bank transfer (BACS).
Please Note: Bowen Therapy is not intended as a substitute for medical advice or treatment. Being complementary, Bowen can work alongside your medical treatment. It is recommended you consult your own doctor or professional healthcare provider about any health concerns you may have.
